Here's what I get on Sky broadband using my iPhone on wireless

Not great considering the estate I live in is roughly 10 years old
My PC has a cabled connection to the router as wireless is pants for gaming, would be interesting to see the difference a cable makes with regards to speed.
I regularly stream iplayer etc. in HD through my tv and it doesn't lag, so my connection is fine for my usage I guess.
Just a thought as well, I just realised my xbox 360 is connected to the Internet, and my girlfriend is upstairs on her laptop which is on the wifi, so that could skew my results slightly
*Edit:
Just hopped onto my PC. Have left xbox connected/girlfriend on laptop to give a fairly comparable result.

Not a massive difference, although the ping is 25% better than over wireless

Ok, well I had an e-mail asking me to rate their changes to my hardware (didn't know I'd had any?!) I went into the survey and it suggested my speeds had increased. So here's today's speed test;wurlycorner wrote:I buy the cheapest, broadband only (no fone, no nuffin else) package from virgin and pay £23.65 for that.
Today's a slow day.
I think it's the 'up to 30 mbps' package, but this has got me thinking... They recently wrote to me to tell me my bill was going up to that price because they'd upgraded the area to 'up to 100 mbps' standard.
Now if I'm not on that service, why am I paying more for it???

So they have!

I notice the 'faster than' score has stayed the same, so it's just keeping pace by the looks...

I hadn't noticed them increase the speeds, because it's always been more than adequate for what I use it: internet radio, catchuptv, iplayer, youtube and uploading photo's to photobucket being the heaviest things, i.e. not as demanding as what you're using it for.
