Ahh, that makes sense :)

And - for lighting - get yourself 2x 5m lengths of flexible LED rope, and affix this to the "inside" of the bed, like this:

My dad's just done this on his 4 post ramp, and it makes a MASSIVE improvement underneath.

oooohhh... I hadn't thought of LED rope... I like your thinking! I'd been pondering putting fluorescent lighting round there but didn't particularly fancy it from a practical point of view.

Will do some eBay searching... :hurr:

+rep!

I am planning on painting the walls around the ramp white and perhaps the floor (decent floor paint is expensive though) and putting some strip lights along the right hand side (it gets a bit dark down there sandwiched between a car and the wall otherwise  ) wonder if the led rope lights would work along there too...

I'd definitely put fluorescent tubes along the sides - you'll get more light and a better spread of light (and it's cheaper than LED stuff!)

Painting the walls with white emulsion is definitely a good (and cheap) idea. I would highly recommend sealing/painting the floor, even if only just the small bit under the ramp, not only does it reduce the dust (you'll be surprised how much dust bare cement floors put out), but it'll also make it easier to mop up spillages.

Good job @wurlycorner :)

I have some fluorescent tube lighting that I've just taken out of the kitchen (under unit lighting).
One long length and two smaller ones, all in series. Got all the cable there etc. so it's plug and play/pray.
I know they are not exactly megabucks to buy new, but they are yours for nowt if you want them. The long fitting is actually only about a year old as I replaced it.

Have you thought of making a specific topic for this event and tagging rather than asking people individually? It will be far more efficient.

Nice idea , Donald, but how do you tag? And there is a separate thread, suitably titled. Appreciate your input, nonetheless. And are you coming!!!
