National meet shelters and gazeebos

Post by honda-hardy » Wed Jul 31, 2013 12:18 am

looking for the weather outlook for the meet it looks like it will be raining on and off all day saturday, so what shelter do people have? i am thinking about buying one because the jpoc manor is not available this year. i plan on getting it put up on friday evening so that the grass in the comunial area will dry out and stay dry.

this is the jpoc manor im on about.

i have a 3x3m gazebo that has no sides. but i was planning on using this to cover my tent, and adding a tarp and wind break like i did last year.

I know it's tight, but I have tried to contact the chap who has the JPOC mansion to see if I can get it for the weekend.

Will try him again tomorrow, but suppose you'd need to buy a gazebo tomorrow to have it arrive in time?

sod it, im poor but needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few.

just bought this for the meet. and future meets that i attend.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251312148467? ... 1497.l2649

all we need now then is some ratchet straps like last year @gayno to go over the roof to help secure it down.

also rope would be good too if the straps are not posible adam. this also goes for anyone attending please.

good call sam. you never know. I have a couple of frames and a tarp can be got and I have the ratchet straps but I am honestly pretty sure they are at the back of a very full garage... I do have rope though and heavy things.

If everyone pays up for the meet and there is some left over I think we should seriously think about throwing some of it into this investment if its only for club use. imo.

You're an absolute star, Sam :)

I've got a couple of those dog-tie twirly stake things I can bring, as well as some rope. As this one has plastic connectors, we'll need to ensure that it's secured down very well so that there's as little flex in it all as possible to avoid damaging them.

Large ratchet straps are ideal for this, if *anyone* has any!

A tent for a tent!

Anyway, top man for sorting gazebo. Seconds here for any left over funds from the meet to go towards re-imbursing you.

I can probably "borrow" some ratchet straps from work.

EBay seller has marked it as despatched already so here's hoping that it will arrive on time before Friday afternoon.
