Good work.
All the mechanicals on this lude are covered in surface rust! What's been done to it in its past?!

Did you know about the broken spring before starting to take it apart?

Wurly. It sat for 2 years before I bought it and had it on the road near 2 years. Then it sat for just over a year before I got it to the house and started doing work on it myself. It's never been undersealed. So it's pretty much a full build mate.

Also on the springs I didn't realise that I had either been running on broken springs before one of the pipes went or they have snapped in the process of lifting and dropping and in transport to the house.

Yeah Ludes seem very forgiving of broken springs - I've had two go on the same car before now and didn't know until I took them off. That's why I was interested if you'd noticed before :)

More to come... If time isn't against me i'm aiming to get the engine out this coming weekend.

Also its Dundee's xmas light switch on so should be going to that if the level of sickness in the house drops

Well more work done today with the help of a mate.
Engine out...was easier than I expected if I'm honest. Took around 4 hours and it was out and in the garage ready for more work.

Quick tidy of the garage after abandoning all tools yesterday. Took the rocker off and was pleasantly surprised. Cams look in good order a couple of wear marks. Also I was expecting the timing belt to be horrific as I had no idea of when it was last done.

Great work 8-) why didn't you take the bonnet off though? Makes lifting the engine up and out easier :)
