Benefits: Weight loss. Negligible gains at best.

Cons: Hot as hell in summer, unable to keep the windows de-misted during winter, heavy steering at low speeds.

The CC system weighs next to nothing, and I cannot see any benefits in removing it.

The only reason i removed mine was to clean up and de clutter the engine bay, and the fact that they didn't work .

Ah, I misread!

As for cruise control, if you do any kind of motorway driving whatsoever, it is an absolute god-send. I REALLY wish my Legnum had cruise control, I really miss it.

Agreed.
I'd always thought cruise control was a bit of a gimmick really - I didn't get leg cramp or anything like that, so it was just for lazy people, right?
Then I got my first 4th gen and tried it 'out of interest' once. Since then I've wished every car had it! :D

@Merlin, retrofit it and lap Knockill in third only using CC. No braking, no changing gear. Imagine how much fun it will be!

Started stripping out both cars today. Upon removing the clutch pedal assembly notied if you push the clutch all the way way down the spring pops out of the white clip, is this normal?

Also noticed where the auto pedals are, where the clutch should go is a metal control unit of some sort. Anyone know what this is and if I can dispose of it or need to position it elsewhere?
