Page 23-232, bottom right hand corner shows the feed to the tail lights.
Right tail light feed is red/black (the middle wire you can see in your picture) and ground is indeed black.

Interestingly it's off the right hand tail light feed that everything else is fed. The left hand tail light feed does nothing else.

I wonder if this would sort it, as I never had any issues with Cruise clicking off:

I had a brake lamp warning lamp before, I've fixed that doing exactly what is in that guide. But aren't the brake light and the normal night light the same bulb? So I'm thinking orange wire does brake or night lights n black is earth or the red/black is brake I'm not sure yet.

So if I fix the right tail light by using a resistor to the red/black and black it should correct the feedback and hey presto no more cruise control knocked off in the night with the lights on.

I wonder if there is a short inside the bulb itself - seen that before. Mad question, if you get someone to brake for you, do your front sidelights come on dimly?

To add to the above, a diode in the feed from the brakes would prevent current making it's way back from the sidelights.

Simples. Unplug connector on clutch switch, undo locking nut on back of the bracket, rotate switch until the plunger is in with the pedal at rest, do up locking nut, re-connect plug.

Ok I've got some can bus leds I'm going to go put in now, hopefully this will rectify the cruise control with lights.
