Agreed. I have them and I'm really happy with the overall level of adjustment.A1ex wrote:Very good suspension! I'm lucky enough to have some courtesy of Mr Dino breaking another carmacky_6 wrote:Gonna save up and do it properly, probably with a set of Meister R's
Set up is pretty stiff I've got the dampers turned up about 2/3rds of the way but if you turn them right down the ride is pretty soft.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Consider yourself lucky, mate. I received the coilovers in unbelievably bad condition. Let me just point some things:
- one of the helper springs was missing (together with both the upper and the lower flanges)
- one of the main rear springs was broken
- adjusting collars on the rear shocks was stuck to the point where cutting was necessary
- one of the adjusting knobs on the shocks was missing
- front shocks have the dust boots missing and one of the rear boots was torn apart
- the front shocks and springs was painted purple and yellow directly over the rust
- missing C-spanners
I received partial refund and now I'm trying to restore them to an usable condition but it seems this will take a month or two at least.

£50. Not enough, but better than nothing. I won on 5th January and paid the same day. The seller however sent the item on 13 Feb. I got them here in Bulgaria on 27 Feb so it was too late to open a case, because I missed the deadline of 45 days.
Actually I have some progress on this:
- removed the paint from the shocks
- ordered a copy of the main rear springs (main)
- asked Tanabe about the price of the dust boots and the helper springs (they are hard to make because of the rectangular section)
- I'm waiting for a quote about the price of the adjusting collars (custom made, again - either from aluminum or stainless steel)
- ordered a new set of C-spanners (they are missing too)
I'm still wondering what to do about the missing knob but I will decide later.
My idea is the following:
- find/replace the missing/broken parts (in progress)
- remove the paint from the set (I will give the springs for sandblasting)
- remove the rust with bh gel and then finish with wire brush end
- spray with bh electrox
- spray the main paint (black, red and gold orange; all with pearls/metallic)
- spray a layer or two of transparent lacquer as a finish
I think I will be able to finish them in two months, but only the time will tell
I love my Prelude so nothing can stop me. The shocks seems to be fine and hope they are or I will commit suicide
