Looking for new stereo....Advice/Opnions?

Post by Vti Steve » Sun Mar 17, 2013 10:27 am

Right.

I'm bored of my stereo.

It's a tape player with 6 cd changer in boot.....but cd changer not releasing cartridge and there's no CDs in it.
So I'm thinking of getting up to date wiv new stereo and just put all my music on USB. That way ill take the changer out n all my 300 CDs!!!!

Less weight.....bit faster???
JOKE

So anyways, what stereos r good?
I'm think Alpine?

Just want mp3 n iPhone connectivity.

Opinions plz
8-)

I've got one of these;

It is a good few kgs lighter than the others I've had. There might be a newer version out now

I always swear by Pioneer units, I've never had any others.

I've got pioneer, Alpine, Clarion and Kenwood stuff spread around various cars.

I think my preference probably goes in that order.
The Alpine stuff is probably the best, but it takes a lot more fiddling with to get right (I still don't feel like I've got my most expensive Alpine setup in the UKDM to sound just right tbh).

The pioneer stuff I've always been able to get settled really quickly, so I'd second Gayno's suggestion. (Mind you, I've not listened to anything from their current/last range of headunits, so they might have gone pants now for all I know!)

Clarion always seem to get overlooked (probably just lack of marketing budget in comparison to the others?) but IME, they're excellent too.

Speakers is another matter...
