P6000's are the worst tyres I have ever driven on. Had them on my Saab 9-5 Aero and ended up swapping them out with 6mm all round. Down right dangerous they were - particularly in the wet!wurlycorner wrote:The JDM came with a set of Pirelli P6000's on - have to say they were amazing, despite being old/cracked.
Definitely better than the Michelin's on the UKDM.
(Neither are cheap though unfortunately)
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

I was running P6000's when I flipped my green 'Lude, I never liked them and I blame them for a good proportion of the crash. Dry grip was good (to a point, then they just let go). Wet grip was atrocious.

Doubt it - not with the latest compounds.bb1boy wrote:I heard that Yokohama (and other Japanese brand tyres) are not good in the wet because it doesn't rain enough in Japan for them to develop decent wet weather tyres. Of course I don't know how much truth there is to this.
The AD08 is a semi-trackday tire and has little tread. Which is probably scary in standing water. But they're on one of the garage queens and I've not driven it in conditions that bad. Having said that, in 'normal-wet' and cold or salty conditions, their grip is truly staggering. I don't think there's anyone who's tried them and not been impressed. The downside of which is a short, happy life...
The 'Lude is an everyday car, so I prefer the F1As as they are great in all conditions. And surprisingly long-lived, the way it's driven.
