Yes to getting stuck in a stripping it down and cleaning it up. water and gunge get in there and mess up the gears after a decade or so.

I'd be looking at the wiring then, stick a multimeter on the connection and see if it's getting power when you press the button

I'd guess that the wiring from the relay to the mirror is gubbed or if the relay has 2 relays inside it that one is gubbed

You will only tell by putting a multimeter on it though (Or a 12v light bulb and 2 bits of wire)

@newkid

There are only 2 wires that go from the drivers door mirror over to the passenger side for the power fold.

This piccy from my UKDM thread shows them (top loom you can see, the bottom one is the puddle lights);

It's the Blue/White and Red wires you're interested in.


The third wire that runs from the drivers side to the passenger side is the fold signal from the switch (not part of the connections into the mirror plug). Blue/Yellow wire on this plug.
