4WS Steering angle sensor

Post by Vtecmec » Wed Apr 24, 2013 5:31 pm

Bit of a fail, but when I fitted an alternative steering wheel 3 years ago, I didn't file a notch.

Anyway, realising this I whipped the wheel off today to do so, but I can't work out what the notch is supposed to fit into, or the 90deg square slots. Am I missing something? :?

Has anyone any pics of what it should look like, or give me a steer (boom, boom)?

yours is exactly the same as mine ;) 4WS and no little bit that needs a grove  my omp boss has no notch and 4ws works fine but could not fit horn as boss kept cutting wires on full lock so just moved horn

never have seen notch for 4ws ;)

Hmm, thanks that does give me a bit more comfort, I only realised as I was looking at a pic the other day of my old wheel that had a groove, and know I didn't do anything. I've not driven the car so don't know if there will be a problem or not.

So are there different types of 4WS steering sensors?

5th gen has a notch, 4th doesn't?
Isn't that how it goes? :?

Dunno, great if that's the case though.

this upsets me cos I've got the steering angle sensor code flashing up on my 4th gen and i always presumed it was the aftermarket wheel :(

Thanks Newkid, I knew I'd seen that thread but just could not find it.

So I removed my wheel for nothing.
