Mugen ECU Chip?

Post by wurlycorner » Thu May 09, 2013 6:59 pm

Obviously these would be copies anyway, but just wondering whether there were any genuine Mugen chips in the first place?

Not heard of one???

That was my suspicion. I was just wondering why they bother to try if there was nothing they could possibly link back to, word quickly gets around the car clubs of the world!!!

Knock Sensor: DISABLED
O2 Sensor: DISABLED
Speed Limiter: DISABLED
Hey Nuke, I know your chips disable the speed limiter. Do they also disable the knock sensor and O2 sensor? :?:

Yeah well prodded on the old.grey cells Pushki... That bit doesn't really make a lot of sense for this 'mugen' chip anyway, does it? Not sure why you'd want to disable the knock sensor?

Sure it keeps the ignition ramped up rather than throttling back, but if you're getting pre-ignition then you're losing power (forgetting about also over-stressing the engine) so you're better off retarding to lose the knock anyway, surely?
