The ring gaskets i believe, are all honda use to mate the oem mani to the oem downpipe. Not sure how well they will work with your setup. aftermarket manifolds like yours were not really meant to be mated to oem downpipe. They usually come as a set.
Hopefully you will be ok tho.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

well i put it all back together today, used the ring gaskets.
The manifold and downpipe dont line up very well at all.
But no more fumes smell in the cabin, and my carbon monoxide alarm doesnt read anything in the cabin.
It does read some when i hold it over the engine bay when running though, anyone know if this is normal?
thanks again for all the help.

No idea if that's normal or not.
Just to confirm though, crush-rings are excellent.
TBH I'd always use them on exhausts in preference to a gasket if the opportunity is there. You need the recess to sit the crush ring in though, can't use them on plain flanges.
As said before, these joints on the OEM manifold are crush ring joints:
Manifold-downpipe (x2)
Downpipe-Cat
Cat-centre section exhaust
I've taken loads of pics and measurements and been meaning to do a thread about 4th gen exhaust sizes/fitments (because so many questions come up, particularly about JDM/UKDM compatibility). Just need to find the damn measurements I took!!!

well they are sat in a recess on the top part of the downpipe, but it is completely flat on the part of the manifold where it meets, wasnt sure if there was ment to be recesses for the rings on both joining parts or not.
It seems to have done the job for the moment, and when i can afford it i will replace the mani and downpipe completely, maybe even go for a cat back system or something.
