how to fit HKS speed limit defencer???
how to fit HKS speed limit defencer???
Ive got a bb6 SiR prelude with a limiter on it. It has the P5M ecu and the clocks read up to 120 mph.
Im guessing all they must have done was change the 180 kph dial over to a 120 mph one when it was imported into the uk.
Read into a HKS speed limit defender which should take away the limiter.
Got it now just stuck on how to wire it up.. don't mind paying someone to do it but has to be localish. Or if its easy enough ill try doing it myself..
wires are:
Red wire: IGN Plus. Called "B" in the japanese SLD Manual.
Black wire: Minus. Called "E" in the japanese SLD Manual.
White wire: SLD Speed Input. Connected to the harness, delivers the "real" Speed Signal to your SLD.
Yellow wire: SLD Speed Output. Connects to the ECU side of the harness and delivers the faked Signal to your ECU.
Blue wire: If your Speedometer receives his Signal from the ECU an not from a separate Sensor, you have to CUT this cable and connect the Harness side with the blue wire. It will send the "real and uncorrected" Speed Signal to your Speedometer.
Not sure blue wire needs connecting for definite..
If its a big job then ill have to get a professional, but if it means splicing a few wires near the ecu or behind the clocks or in the engine bay ill give it a go myself and hopefully not faff it up. Any advice would be greatful.
Also I cant seem to find a layout for the harness that plugs into the ecu or the p5m pinout,
again any help would bemuch appreciated.
