Im just after driven home from friends house in my dti vectra work horse 00 got round the corner from my house luckily enough and the car just losses drive. All lights a radio all working go to start it again and it fires up for few secs the off she goes again now will not start at all. Any thoughts and idead welcome thanks

Whent round tryed her again there still drokk all its turning over ok just wont start im think mybe a air lock in the diesel? The water was real low in her to but dout it would do that. Never cgecked the current but all lights a radio , dash lights all working great

You can have enough current to power all the lights etc, but to power a motor and turn over a high compression diesel engine takes a lot of juice. See if a jump start gets it going, if it does, time to get the battery and alternator checked out.

There's not a lot that can stop a diesel.
As you say, air-lock/blockage in the fuel, or the injection system isn't firing for some reason.

Can you hear or feel the injectors firing when you crank it over?

Na not battery toed it to my mates put battery jumper on her no good. Just got fule filter so we put that in and gentleman's sausage about until his we pal mechanic comes hopfully sort her fingers crossed

Have you tried to start it with a bump start while towing it??

Im gonna hazard a a guess at either the fuel pump or glow plugs.

Were thinking the pumps mybe gone fs. Dont think the glow plus as are they not just to start it as it died while driving

Checked the ecu falt codes?

I had a DTI Signum last year, had a similar problem which turned out to be the throttle position sensor was shot. Had to have the whole throttle body replaced (luckily still under warranty from supplying dealer).
