Post by jonja » Sat Jun 22, 2013 1:51 pm

Hey, just did manual diagnostics(with that connector) when i started ignition check engine just went on and that's it, nothing more happened, when I took wire off , check engine light went off
What could it mean? No problems? But my abs don't work anyway but it didnt showed that. Any ideas?

The ABS light will give you flashes to let you know what's wrong with the system (Won't if you don't have a bulb in there)

No it only shows engine faults, everything else is shown through it's own warning light, i.e ABS,4WS and TCS

Are you expecting the car to have some fault codes then?

If so, I'd ask what are you using to short the connector and did you try both sides of the pins?

I have had it where I've used a paperclip and got the check engine light to come on (constant) and nothing else flash any codes. Then I used a bit of wire and had the same result, then I tried the other side of the pins and it worked (the various systems flashed codes at me). It's quite sensitive to having a very good connection.

Well first we( me and ailfenergy ) checked hes faults and ir did work, than I checked mine and check engine light just comes on and nothing else happens. And we used same wire
After, we fixed problem and deleted that fault, and checked again with wires and check engine light just came on and that's it, so probobly it means that there is no other engine faults.
