Can you hear any air being sucked in?

The intake manifold gasket went on my old BB1 which caused hunting idle

Bleeding the air out of the coolant pipes did it for me a couple of years ago.

Right, i cant hear any air bieng sucked in, ive tries the fitv vaulve, i drained the coolant, replaced the thermostat, tried adjusting the tps, checked the exhaust for blows, and its still doing it, only does it when its warm tho, anyone wanna earn a dollar and come have a l

Did you adjust the idle speed using the screw at the top of the throttle body? Seems mine was the only suggestion you didn't try.

Really the base idle screw is the last thing you want to adjust. You need to make sure all other things have been ruled out first otherwise you a just masking over a problem that may only get worse.

Is it the original ECU?


Have a read of page 11-101 of the 5th gen service manual. That page shows the troubleshooting flowchart for idle issues (including how to set the base idle properly ;)). Page 11-52 is a very interesting read. It tells you what factors influence each part of the PGM-FI system, including the IACV.

I havnt read it melin, ill have a root through later, and i havent tried it gayno as i didnt know which one to adjust

get some wd40 when its idling and hunting spray the wd40 all around the intake manifold where it joins the engine if there is any leaks this will show them up as the engine revs will change
