My case for unluckiest driver of the year...

Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

Thought I'd bring this up to date on what's happened with my car, which is basically not a lot. But I've been a bit distracted lately with the non automotive side of my life.

I eventually got rid of the 107 after 18 days of its company. My car was repaired very well, some might say it actually represented a minor improvement on the first repair from April. Only problem I had (apart from the rubbish 107) was that they didn't replace the crumpled arch liner so there was a large gap between the inner rear arch and the liner itself. Not wanting this to provide a way in for dirt and water, I insisted they replace it as part of the repair. They did, even picking my car up from work as I didn't want to trek back over to the other side of leicester for it.

So, I've parted with my insurance excess for the repair but at least I was back in a reasonably safe car now. Then I get a letter from the police saying they aren't taking an action against the woman who hit me because of lack of witnesses (there may have been one but I had to race after the other driver so didn't hang around) and lack of CCTV. Not sure whether they actually tried to be honest, I know I spent hours putting as much detail into my statement as I could to help them. The only useful thing they did give me was her full name and address ( ) and policy number for her insurers.

This has all been passed to my insurers and much form filling has taken place. Originally my insurers reported that the other driver had not reported it to her insurance (not surprised really). But the latest letter I've had says that her insurance are contesting liability on her behalf. This makes me so angry - if she was the wronged party and I'd hit her, why did she drive away and not report it to her insurance or the police. Hardly the actions of someone who wanted to claim for damage.

Meanwhile I keep getting stupid letters from a solicitor advising me that I have whiplash and asking me to prove what I've spent on phone calls and put a value on loss of use of my car. The whole thing just annoys me really, one split second of stupidity by another driver and it creates months of hassle afterwards.

And to top that, my a3s air conditioning has packed up and it looks like its the compressor.....I guess they do say bad luck comes in 3s.

Accidents really are a right pita long after, aren't they. So much admin... I had a lorry drive into one of my cars on a roundabout and they contested liability. They only accepted liability 2 years later, the evening before it was due in case. Nothing other than a complete and utter waste of time (no compensation for the time taken, either). And it was such a petty amount - £1,200!!!

Sorry to say that I'm not surprised the Police aren't pursing it. Anything that's slightly time consuming and doesn't fit with their measured targets, they just drop these days, which is crap. I got mugged walking home through town one night a couple of years ago. They did come round and take a statement, which was good (the policewoman was hot too ) and got me in to look through some mugshots of known crims, but they didn't take a photo of the injuries, there were at least 2 cctv camera's within 10 feet of it (council operated) and a month later the police said they still 'hadn't been able to obtain the cctv' so they'd be dropping the case... :tosser:

No, I'm afraid I can only provide witless statements

Give your boyfriend something to do and burn her house down then. This sh!t makes my blood boil. I got a huge carpark dink last weekend while I was in the car! A big ballbearing size dent in my rear quarter.. the woman was very apologetic and said her brother is a panel beater blah blah blah - I still have heard nothing, but I do know where she lives and where her car is parked.. if I don't hear something soon her "panel beating brother" is gonna be a bloody busy boy

Alas the fire attending other half is no more (that makes it sound something happened to him, it didn't, we just agreed to disagree too many times). That's not to stop me burning anything down though....

I hate it when they open doors into you especially if you're in the car. I think someone on here said it sounds horrendous from inside the car. I'd hold her to fixing it within a time frame, then get round there with a golf club ;)

Haha! Somehow I wonder how seriously the police would take @lxstuart
