flickering dash lights then car cut out and won't start

To clarify - that's In Car Entertainment - not frozen water

flickering dash lights then car cut out and won't start

Anyone lend a hand? I've just broke down on my way home from a mates house,the dash lights started flickering ansd the speedo and rev counter stopped working then the engine died, when I try to start it back up it just clicks as if the battery is dead?

Come to think of it I think its probably the alternator :/

Sounds about right, though it should have put on the battery light but kept running until the battery died? :?

Check the battery and alternator connections and earths would be the first place to start I suggest.

Nope no dash lights, although the battery is deffo dead afte tryingto start it up 3 times! Bloody car!

That happened to me when my alternator went. Did your battery and CAT temp guage light not come on?

as the others say check the battery and alternator 1st but if there good i had similar issues a few years back and it turned out to be the ignition barrel switch

same has happened to me recently - but it turned out to be the spade connector that attaches to the front of the alternator had sheared off. Hope you get it fixed.
