I'd go for a decent branded pattern part or like Wurly said, wait for a new old stock pump to come up. I don't know how you personally search on ebay but if you put a really broad search in such as "honda waterpump" you may find one listed which the seller doesn't know what car its from. You just need to find your part number out :) look at pumps listed for the 3g accord too as they use the same engine, but double check part numbers etc before purchasing. This is all if you don't mind trawling ebay for hours btw lol

The good thing is the waterpump isn't run off the timing belt so if the pump goes its not going to damage anything that way, it will just be the overheating you need to watch out for. Shouldnt be too hard to change either as you don't have to remove the timing belt :)

Says it's a Firstline. They're fine.
Especially since it's not driven off the cambelt, who cares if it goes after 5 years - easy change job.

What's wrong with the old one incidentally?
If it's corroded impeller, would be worth checking the core plugs as well.

Well i was assuming the timing belt ran the pump lol so as i was gonna change the belts i thought it best to change the pump. Seems I'm learning more and more on here

Had the prelude running for a good 30mins yesterday no over heating.

Cheers guys, you saved me a few quid ;)

No mate, there is no history with the car, so it may have never had any belts changed. So as a precaution I'm changing them all before i take it on the road

Good idea, I always try to do the same whenever I buy a car, along with the fluids :)

Yep, it's a very good thing to do and what I always do too - including the JDM. Except that I've now had it nearly 2 years so it hasn't gone to plan at all :?
