Both the JDM and UKDM car have the same setup (SRS, 4WS and ABS) and I THINKindigolemon wrote:I prefacelift UKDM to postfacelift UKDM without issues. Swapping JDM -> UKDM and vice versa can be tricky due to missing SRS/ABS lights etc.

This would probably have been so much easier if I'd just got on with doing the job at the time!

If you have the full loom, i'd just bash on one day - you can leave the old loom in place and just make the relevant connections at either side of the dash and then test before doing the full swap. That's what I did

Which car do I go for using the 1 donor loom in though and which do I go for trying to fit by modifying the existing loom? The UKDM or the JDM?
(Don't tell me - the answer to that is entirely dependant on me finding out which type of car the loom came out of, right?!)

YES
at last i have full workin EL dials
had nothing to do with the looms at all
the kebab who owned the lude before me fitted a mph converter behind the tweeter cover, fine! but when we looked into this it had 5 wires comoing from it. the red was connected to power, right! the green to earth, right! the blue and yellow made a feed loop for the orange speedo sender, right
BUT!!! the grey wire was not supposed to be used but mine was run all the way across the back of the dash and was feed into the ECU
when we found it, it too was connected to the orange speedo sender wire
what a git
he must have ghetto fixed it at some point
so all the looms and el dials would have worked fine but because the speedo sender was cut my ecu didnt know the car was doing over the required 18mph and was safty cutting the vtec off and firing the eml light
so i now have a ukdm facelift dash loom and ukdm el dials all working with vtec and mph
we got so cocky that Big Damo no has Project X's jdm facelift dash loom and jdm EL dials all working with vtec and in kph
which he wanted

I took a set out of the bag o sh1te to fit in the pickup but didn't realise at the time the loom was different so have no loom if there's one going spare somewhere. Obviously willing to pay for it.
