Thanks batkosio :10:

:? Now I'm totally confused though...
So according to that circuit, with the loom to that device cut through, I should have no cooling fan or condensor fan and no a/c.
The cooling fan definitely works, I'll pop out and try the condensor fan in a moment.
I can't see anywhere else in the loom under the dash that looks to have been chopped about either, so I can't see any bodge that's been put in to get round that thing not being in circuit any more :?

:lecture: :troll:
Why are so many people determined to drokk around with car wiring and screw things up?

Wonder if my car didn't actually have this device originally (or it's mounted somewhere else) and the ecu plate has been swapped in from another car at some point? :? So it's superfluous????

Just been looking the 4th gen manual now I know what I'm looking for (pg 22-3 on) and this might be UKDM/EDM only device, for manual heater slider controls and a/c button?

The ECU in the car definitely isn't the original one and the plate has at least been out once before (not all bolts are fitted  ) so my thought about it being not part of this cars control system, might be right???

@kris_aka_eduYour car has similar spec and the carpet's cut on yours so it's easy to peel back and look at the ECU area, any chance you can take a look and see if that black box is mounted (and wired in) on the right of your ECU please?
Thanks.

...well if that's the case, just avoid the bit about duct tape. It's hell to get off afterwards, even assuming you're limber enough to manage it.

I've just taken my matts out and pulled the carpet back and can't find anything like that. Is it under the foot plate? I haven't taken that out to have a look if it is?

Yep, it's under the foot plate, mounted on the right hand side of the ECU.
