I have it on both my 4th's and yes, it has sagged. I'm hoping to fix that though by drilling and fitting a couple of extra original clips round the area where it sags.

I'm hoping to use the original style clips somehow though, if possible :? Bludge has rescued a couple for me

Yeah, I never took the shield off to see the size of the hole I used, but that fixing was fine, I just had to cut it down a tad as it was too long.

Ive actually replaced mine. I hated the steam being emitted from the bonnet when it rained. It doesn't do it any more.

I wouldn't imagine that the heat from the engine would damage the bonnet finish though.

Take it off, it's just noise dampening personally. Took mine off and on my type r makes it sound a lot better. That's just personal opinion. Looks wise I'd get rid of it too if its causing problems never see them on any other cars.
