Lol ordered my split boot, £6.90 which is ok I dnt really want to make it a job removing everything I rather go for split as I just want to run it for year or even less if i have a chance to buy a better JDM , like my £250 car lol it deserves a split boot, call it budget but lol also most of it is rusty, so don't want more problems when removing upper arm or ball joint or damper fork lol all in all lets just say I just wna it to be in the road and serve it purpose for a year or so

Hey I'd get get some loctite or strong grade rubber or plastic adhesive as extra cuz the glue you get with the split boot set is pretty shocking just make sure if you do to apply it minimalisticaly to ensure you don't get any in you driveshaft :P but in the long run oem boots are best

Lol will do, but is there a easier way to cut the sticky boot to size, or do you guys think I would get away with just not cutting it to size lol

What needs cutting to size about it?

I been looking on YouTube and the man is like you have to measure it and cut to size, don't know if it will jut be ok just leaving it the size it comes and just putting it in simple lol

The small end will probably be too small, just cut it back to the next size marking with scissors.

My advice: Once the old boot has been cut off, wrap the CV joint in cling film to keep the grease contained, fit sticky boot, gluing in 2cm sections (if rubber is clean and dry the glue will work just fine). Once it's all glued and dried, pop the big end off the joint, pull out the clingfilm, add more grease if necessary, secure boot in place. Wheel back on, job done.

That's a great idea about the cling film, hadn't thought/heard of that idea before.

Nick a traffic cone and cut 6 inches off the end?

Try different soft drinks bottle, one more pointy shaped than a fat Coke bottle?

And don't forget to submerge the boot in boiling water to make it even more stretchy..

One question: How did you end up with a stretch boot and no cone? I thought they came as a kit..
