new complete engine, 294bhp 222 lb ft , old engine has destroyed everything except 2 pistons possibly and the cams/solid lifters and the itbs are ok.

top bloke on the camera is alix, he has taken some lovely shots, look at the flames from this

well what a day i have had/still having, ripped out the drenth sequential last week and ordered a sadev sequential to replace it which is supposed to be a direct replacement for a sierra type 9 gearbox.so got a sierra gearbox and fitted to make the mounts up and the new propshaft for when the sadev comes. happy days

this turned up today, very pretty isn't it.

happy days my arse. its not a direct replacement for a type nine at all. the gearbox mount is different and the top of the box is 3 inches higher than a standard box which means i have to alter the mount and cut the tunnel out again. tunnel is already touching the heater box inside the car so now we have to lose the blower, ok so we have a heated front screen fitted but on a cold and wet day a heater is a nice aid to the heated screen.
16 hours i have been here today hoping to get it fitted and running for testing as we have a rally sunday and im no closer to getting it running than i was when i ordered it. another long day on the cards tomorrow me thinks time to go home for a beer a chill out and some sleep i think :(

Ah crap - how annoying is that. On a plus, your fab skills look awesome, shame you have to amend it!

And that box is a shiny, sexy bit of engineering! 8)

went rallying yesterday and the new box is reportedly awesome and the engine is pulling like a train so happy days on that front.
on a slightly sadder note on the last stage a little yump in the road threw the car up in the air and into a big tank slapper on landing and into a revine

then the unimog got stuck trying to get us out

dug a ditch up to my arse

so our run of bad luck came to an abrupt end with a 70/80 mph crash into a rather damp hole but where nobody got hurt and the car although damaged got off remarkably lightly too.

happy days
