Bloody hell mate that puts damage in perspective. I am sorry to hear that . My condolences to His/Her family and friends.
I have kleptomania,
But when it gets bad,
I take something for it.

Indeed it is Nitin. Normally, facing up to the end of you're garden, the fence to the right is yours / you're responsibility.

Plus the owner of that other garden is a very old man (not sure why he doesn't drive a 5G) and I don't want to bother/stress him..

Actually not true. There's no hard and fast rule about which side should be yours. It just depends what it detailed on the deeds of your property. My parents are responsible for the left hand side fence, and the rear fence.

We just bought the property recently (March 2013) and the previous owners did mention to us that the right fence and the rear fence is our (responsible for it) :)

Good news, My uncle just came around and he said we don't need new fence. Told me to get refund on the new fence I bought. He said the old fence he will fix it and put it back together. Saved a few pounds.

Oh, thats always handy to know. Were liable for the right hand side and the back. My friends are all the same as well.

Will keep an eye on the deeds when i move then
