get a new one or find somewhere with a jig and the knowhow to pull it out with chains and jacks. either will cost you about the same imho.
I tore two of the rear frame mounting panels out on the bimmer on the ring. i cant find anyone to do the work at the moment
having to drive it like a snail or face tearing the whole subframe, read dif and wheels off the car. lol... 212ftlb and i cant even use 50.

chelt, glos, bristol, worcester are the close places mate. I think I might have just torn the thread on the passenger front mount but it could be worse. got poly bushes to go in. think that was the problem. The last owner changed over loads and I thought those as well. Turns out they are old as the hills oem..
@wurly: pah! No mate. driving like i was on fire. Locked the diff up a couple of times coming into ncorners a little hot. being Used to the ludes gear ratios as I was meant that switching to 2nd at 55mph shunts the whole drive train in a bimmer. all that torsion ends up on the subframe mounts. short sharp attack like that is more likely to take the thread off the mounting points rather than tear the sheet metal attached. That tearing happenws with more prolonged abuse.
Both are only really an issue if your subframe bushes are worn and allowing too much movement through to the mounts. As seems to be the case here.

Well they said the bolt to adjust the toe on the dodgy wheel was seized. im gonna have a crack at it myself this week. is it ok to soak it in penetrating fluid first?
If i can get it cracked then it will be sorted! if not will just need to replace a few bits again. all in all im happy knowing the chassis isnt out of line.

so i went for a reasonable drive this evening and there is a really nasty knocking from the rear over bumps. i had it before on the rear right but now its both sides and really pronounced.
should have asked before putting it all in really, but are there ment to be washers between the chassis and nuts and bolts of the upper control arms? as the knocking sounds like its coming from that sort of area.
