Ok, what would you do?

Have you been in this situation before..or know of someone who has?

What was the course of action, and what was the outcome?

You provide them with details of how good a condition yours was in and ads of equivalent cars currently for sale, to show them why you believe the value is greater than their current offer.

Is the offer net of your excess and, if so what is your excess?

Need more details on this, who made the offer and so on.

So are the figures you've quoted before or after excess is taken off?

Do you have to pay the excess then even if you're not at fault? Or is it reclaimed from the other party afterwards or something.

The latter usually - if it's through your own insurance. Although if this is through her insurers, there will be no excess to pay, they pay you the full amount.

This /\ /\ /\
when a numpty drove into my car while it was parked outside my house I was first offered 250 which I refused. then I got offered 400 I refused that then I supplied examples of 3 cars to replace it the prices were 850 950 and 1150 they offered me 1050 which I accepted..... I also asked for and got a courtesy car from his insurance company until I bought my new one.... its her fault do not allow her insurance company to stitch you up....
