JDM Fogs

Post by andyconnolly » Mon Nov 25, 2013 12:37 am

Right my fog lights have never been used since ive had the car and infact the harnesses have actually been hanging under the splitter of the car. Dont think the previous owner used them either by the looks of things.
With the weather getting worse and the nights getting darker thought it would be time to sort these.
What bulbs do they take ? (as far as i know its still the original factory fitted jdm ones). Seen something about them being H3 or H3C ??
Is there any common problems them ?
A previous owner has wired a rear fog light into the rear driverside light cluster, this shouldnt be affecting the front should it ?

on night shift tonight but if its dry tomorrow and not as cold as it has been i might get the chance to look.

Shouldn't be affecting the front, no. Unless they used the front fog switch to run the rear foglight instead?

I think it is the front fog switch they've used
Need to dig out my multimeter I think and put my apprentice skills to the test lol
Even at that should be able to run both off one switch ?

The wiring is quite easy to figure out. The switch activates a relay in the foot well fusebox. The relay then powers the fogs.

That was all custom wiring. You should have the stock wiring in place :D

My rear fog is wired into the front fog switch so both come on at the same time with the 1 switch ;)

Can't remember what bulbs they take though :?: if I get chance tomorrow, I'll take a look and let you know bud ;)

A quick search on prelude power says H3 for oem fogs, and H3C for replica fogs :?:
