Hmmm...
Description of that noise sounds less like release bearing and more like syncromesh/low oil/damaged gearwheel/breaking up pressure plate or other knackered bearing inside the box. But then they don't explain the clutch pedal going to the floor!
:?
Yep, I reckon stripping down is the only way to go...

The clutch isn't dropping to the floor, after changing the slave, it's actually stiffer than its ever been

So has changing slave cured it? Normally if slave goes the pedal will feel flat/dead with no pressure, if master goes normally pedal will take longer to rise, also worth checking pipes and reservoir as if it's drawing crap or air in this will give flat feeling with no pressure. If the release bearing is knackered it will make the noise you describe only when the clutch is depressed, if it makes the sound you described when the clutch is released it may well be a knackered input shaft bearing. But to be honest it's probs been caused by a worn out clutch. Just my 2p and sorry for the bland grammer

I've been told 300, 500 and 1000 but 1000 seems a bit of a body lemonade take. I'll go for the 300-500 mark.

When is the next dyno day then :P
