Intermittant heater blower.

Post by Bludge » Sat Nov 30, 2013 10:26 pm

The fans on my heater seem to be working intermittantly of late. it seems to work a bit better once the car has been running for a while. had to sit around for about 5 minutes waiting for them to kick in earlier and clear the windscreen! the control unit is working fine, and you can hear the flaps(?) moving to adjust where the air is directed when you change it, just no blowing, even on full! then all of a sudden it will kick in.

Im guessing its a problem with the actual motor? where is it located?

Under the passengers side dash behind the glovebox.

I think I have a spare if you need a replacement.

Might not be the fan, could be the fan speed control circuit being o/c when cold and then ok when warmed up abit? I think UKDM's have a resistor pack, JDM's have a transistor instead. and I think that's also located above the glove box?
