Wiring JDM fog switch to 93 prelude

Post by Lorenzo » Mon Dec 02, 2013 9:45 am

Hi,

I have bought a JDM fog switch some time ago. This weekend I was trying to connect it unfortunately, did not succeeded. Maybe anyone has a manual with wiring, and picture of JDM plug, because mine came without pigtails so I don't know which wire goes where.
And the same problem with digital speed cluster. manual part with wiring needed.
Prelude is 4 gen.

Cheers

Hi Lorenzo,

There's a link to download all the original service manuals (which includes all the wiring diagrams) in the wiki-lude (see title bar on the forum).

It will be easier if you post a pic of it. You didn't even say is it rear or front fogs.

I am assuming it will be front fogs as Japanese cars didn't have a rear fog. But yeah some pics and a clearer explanation of what you are trying to do is needed.

If you don't have the pigtail how are you planning on attaching the wires to the switch?

Sorry for the lack of information:
I am talking about front fogs, at the moment I have switch located in tweeter cover, and I would like to use JDM switch in arm rest.
Current switch has 8 or 7 wires, for the JDM switch ( I found picture in description below) with 3 or 4 wires. Because i don't have any wire on in my new switch i am asking for manual or advice form You.
I tried to use this description(http://www.preludezone.com/4th-gen-hond ... p-plz.html), but did not succeeded, something went wrong with wiring.

I have some loom form junk yard (with connectors), some wires (random color) where fitted in to gray connector from JDM fog switch, but don't know witch wire from old switch goes where.

You need to get a test lamp or multimeter and test each of the wires to see that they do. Then do the same for the JDM switch and see what wires should connect to each other,

If you have a bulb, an in-line fuse, and a few bits of wire you can easily make a test lamp.
