Weak Spark...wait...no.Something else

Post by RattyMcClelland » Tue Dec 10, 2013 3:28 pm

I have brand new copper step 7 plugs in the car and i have pulled my old plug grounded and i have tested acros the dizzy and the spark is yellow/orange, not blue daba de daba di.

Iv yet to check the spark with a newer plug but the car wouldnt start with them either.

Could excessive cranking damage the dizzy and reduce its spark?

I would say it's coil fault. Pull it off and check the resistance with manual. It's rather due to an age then excessive cranking IMHO

Don't know if I'm telling you how to suck an egg/penis but does any of this help?

Might help eliminate stuff. I dunno. I should probably stick to shitposting instead of trying to help tbh

Don't know :( , but you could test the coil and see if it is ok? I had the similar problem on my Pulsar (non starter, rough runner) which turned out to be the coil. There will be a test guide in the 5th gen manual.

Just put a fresh one stage colder iridium over the coil and its nice and blue. Tried it on a lead and its nice and blue.
The car just wont start.
I can hear the fuel pump priming.

I cant understand why it has just decided to not start.
Im wondering it its something to do with the greddy emanage ultimate.

I will unplug it and see if it starts with no piggy back. :|

2nd hand emanage.
Not checked the grounds but the worked before and then it suddenly just never started firing up.
Whipped off the charger to retry sealing it and started it up and nothing.

Ill check the ground etc etc.

The Emanage has loads of base maps for a variety of JDM cars and almost all 90s jap engines.
Im using the h22a map and adjusted injector values.
Again i had the emanage plugged in and the car started whilst i was trying to sort the charger out.
But i came to start the car one morning to find vacuum leaks and it wouldnt start. I hadnt changed anything.

All fuses are ok.
I have spark
I can hear the fuel pump.
Im low on fuel but i doubt thats an issue. I can always top up.
Injectors are all plugged in
TPS, MAP, IACC are all plugged in.
I am missing the engine to chassic ground but thats been missing for nearly 8months without issues.
Maybe i need to charge the battery fully and really crank it alot since it does take an extra crank or 2 now my battery is in the boot.
Ill unplug the EMU and try and start it when i can chance of daylight.

I hate this supercharger. Not ONE thing has gone right.
