Squeak When Pressing Clutch (half way to fully down)

Post by prelude_h22 » Tue Dec 10, 2013 6:57 pm

Hi All

Had a clutch and flywheel change by PAW and all seems great. Clutch and fly work really well together, but Just recently the clutch is making a squeaking sound from half way to fully down.

When the car is cold, started up and taken for a drive there is no squeak at all. Everything feels normal and drives the way it should.

After approximately 30mins of driving and more noticeably after a motorway drive and when coming to a stop or approaching traffic the squeak is present

When the squeak is present the car still drives fine and nothing affects the car at all. Its just the squeak.

The squeak occurs approximately halfway to the lower section when pressing down the clutch.

I have tried to video the noise to give you a better idea. (Might need to turn up the volume abit)

Any ideas? PAW say it may be the master and slave - how easy are they to change? Might want to give it a go if its not to difficult. Problem is funds are really low at the moment :(

Just thought i'd share it with you guys and if anyone had experienced the same issue

Thanks all

Sure it isn't just the pedal pivot?

Particularly if you've been driving with the heater on set to blow into the footwell???

That reason is a pretty common thing on cars IME.

Get your self some spray grease and spray on rivet and spring that should solve it
Sounds like a dry joint

I had this...

think you need to grease up the slave cylinder?

some part in the engine bay to do with the clutch, had it done while ago cant remember exactly

its common fault, but its not the pedal itself

Grease where the ball of the slave cylinder touches the clutch fork?

Thanks guys. Shall give it a go.

The slave: could this unbolted and then grease up the ball?
Would any grease do?
