 I know. I'd kind of like an SI unit clock, that'd be pretty cool. Only thing is, where would it start counting from, and what to?

Can we then measure speeds in parsec per sec, please?
That'd mess up the boy racers, which can only be a good thing.

You're going by earth days again though, why should my clock be counting to the old units? ;) maybe as time is linear, it should be counting from the original zero up to an infinite number?

Because the passage of time is relevant to the body you're on. So if we're on earth it only makes sense to count in units created on earth rather than an absolute unit like lightspeed. Although actually my viewpoint is probably incorrect seeing as 1 second has been defined properly and will hold true universally. Who knows what I'm saying. I don't.

And I'm sorry but time is not linear ;)

I just decided to have a read on the matter, from what I read it looks like there are different ideas about the 'structure' of time dependant on what the nature of time actually is, which there doesn't seem to be an agreement on :? Going back to my dimly remembered days of college I was taught time was a dimension, but it would seem that is not the entire picture or concensus :(

:D

We need professor cox with his blackboard and piece of card to explain about time being a dimension, here...

If you can find his The Science Of Doctor Who lecture somewhere, watch that.
