Isn't this just a case of resoldering something or am I thinking of that other thing?

My civic had this issue last year, I just disassembled the ignition switch, cleaned and adjusted it, worked flawlessley afterwards.

Well got my switch, had to pay for it though. It went to the recall campaign in 2002 at 96000 km (witch is a good reinsurance about the clock showing legit numbers since I don't have any history of the car :D )
Down side €68,- poorer and lowering have to wait till next pay-check since I also bought some cewl goodies 8-)

Get to it this afternoon if I feel like it and it isn't pouring outside :?

Yup job done, hope it's fixed now. But I don't know what kebab had his hands on my car before but loosing 5 of the in total 8 screws is almost impossible if you're not loosing them on purpose :x
Also this is how I found the switch I got out, Image
Someone tried to fix it cheapely and made it dangerous instead...
Imagine the shocking sensation when you decide to have a look to see what the problem could be... :?

Sorry to jump into an old thread.

I am having the same problem on my 98 prelude I discovered today while driving at 70 odd on the motorway.

I knew that the ignition was a bit iffy but didn't realise that the car could potentially just stop though.

How do I find out which part I need for my car or do I just ask the guy at my Honda dealership?
