Rather than crashing it into gear, you should be able to get it into gear by rev matching and then it should just slide into the next gear. Easier on some cars than others, IME though!

Doesn't help with pulling away either, of course...

Yeah after I got going, the hardest part lol I managed to get to rev match it, still not the smoothest ridr but it got me home!

Yeah lesson learned! I'm just amazed how he sold it like that when he's so well known down here, literally so many people when they ask about the car know it used to be his. Don't understand lol

You have to wonder when a guy tries to sell a set of cheap as chips OEM directional wheels with 3 one way and 1 the other instead of getting the right one... That and the long list of problems you've unfortunately had.

Mmmm, just hope rob manages to get to the end of the road soon, and starts to enjoy a bit of reliable motoring, someone said to me once that more than any other manufacturer, the best way to have a reliable Honda was to leave it be, they built them right in the first place

Rob if you need a hand with the clutch mate give me a shout and I'll try and head over. I think I'll be tied up with my Accord tomorrow eve but I'm free all the other evenings. I've just done the clutch on mine so it's fresh in my head :)

Thanks :) I may need your help in the next couple of days lol. Looks like I'm going to have to get a clutch kit from eBay as unipart and cpa don't even have a part number for a clutch :( I'm gana take it off tomorrow but il need some help fitting and then adjusting it.
Theres 3 on eBay for my engine but I don't know if they have a release bearing with it. Il put links up in a min when I'm on the laptop.
@jjmartin349571 where did you get your clutch from?

Also got the cam shaft seals today, it says in the pack for a d16a1. I thought the seals were like U shaped but these and round. Any ideas?

EDIT:
Here's the links, 2 are the same just ones £5 cheaper :S

No worries mate :) just give me a shout if you need me, I'll drop you my number by PM once I'm back in the house. Yeah the motor factors are a bit Clubbing Eddy at getting part numbers for these cars unfortunately, as are Honda... I got my clutch from eBay in the end, and took a bit of a risk with a cheap remanufactured clutch that I stumbled upon :? In hindsight it probably wasn't the best choice and I'd definitely advise you to buy a new one ;)

As for the ones you've linked, from the listing I think the only way to find out if option number 2 has a release bearing is to drop them a message. Option number 1 looks fine though 8-) Don't forget the other bits you'll need, ie. spindle nuts, fluids etc. ;)

It could be me being thick here actually  are you pulling the engine to get the box off, or are you lucky enough to have it on a ramp?
