JDM Floor Well Light Question

Post by fuzzychainsaw » Wed Jan 15, 2014 10:13 am

For this harness, does jumper connector 1 & 2 go on the passenger or drivers side of a LHD and where exactly.

For connector 5 & 6, what does this jumper also go to?

Connector 4 & 7, are they for the door courtesy lights?

Number 3, the two black pieces, are they splicers?

Bit more details please... What gen is this for? Where did the loom come from? How do you know/what makes you think these are definitely bits for a prelude Etc.

Also can't see the full length of the loom in the pics, can you zoom out a bit as well?

Connectors 1&2 look to me like they interupt the feed on a main loom (e.g. at fuse box)

Surely connectors 4 and 7 are the footwell lights themselves?

My apologies. 4th Gen 92-96 Prelude.

Yes 4 & 7 are the food well lights. But they have a grey 2P connector going to them like the usual Honda light and also a male and female brown 1P connector which I think might be another jumper connection?

this connector going to one of connectors under passenger side dashboard just below tweeter cover. remove glovebox and you will find them. There is few of them but all are different from each other. You will be able to mach it according to size.

This are diodes rectifiers. Don't do anything with them. Wires green/red and green/blue are signals from door switches. I think diodes have something to do with connectors 4 and 7.
I wouldn't also bother about 4 and 7. After you install it in your car you can disconnect them to see what will happened. IMHO they are for connecting other option harness or other configurations for different car maybe. I'm only guesing so I may be wrong.

6 have to be connected to constant +12V from underdash fuse box. And 5 is directly connected with 6 in case you wanna use another option harness which need constant +12V so if you don't have any leave it alone.

You can sell it to me then I will fully test it and post results here

It's not about building one. It's all about JDM stuff which if isn't original then it dosn't count ;)

And from the diagram I thing if you disconnect 4 and 7 then footlights will not come on while you will open doors. But still you will be able to turn them on with the switch located on lights bodies. My previous theory is probably wrong but what do I know ;)
