I just used ebay man, the downside is you need to disable the brake light warning system if you fit them. Guide here:

@indigolemon, if I'm following your walk-through correctly, do we just need to add an extra earth to the white/green wire that you identified? ..and only on one side? Thanks

That was what I found man, yup. Just linked it to the earth bang in the middle under the boot hatch. You could test it easily enough, as I understand there are different blown bulb sensor types so there may be some variation?

Right on, I may give that a go. Do you know if that is the only issue with LED bulbs? Will they not screw up indication flashing times?

I still use normal silvertech bulbs for the indicators, as yes, without a load resistor the flashing becomes a tad frantic! There are preloaded relays on ebay, still to investigate that option though.

Indigo's right, there are different bulb sensor units out there on 4th gens.

The problem with LED bulbs for the bulb sensor units is the resistance/voltage drop across them is different to standard bulbs. The way round it is LED bulbs which have additional resistors built in so they appear to be 'standard' bulbs. EAO (for example) do them for industrial applications, doesn't anyone do them for automotive yet? (Haven't looked myself so no idea).

...regular filament bulbs for me it is then!

I got some 120% brighter H4 bulbs from Halfords the other day, £25 each, buy one get one free.. they are great, apart from people keep flashing at me because they think my high-beams are on (until I flash my real high-beams haha ;) )
