2nd Gear Grind on a 2.0i 4 Gen
Hi Guys,
A friend of mine has a 2.0i 4th Gen and the car seems to grind when put into 2nd gear (2nd gear from any gear). All other gears are fine and the car drives really smooth. It does go into 2nd gear but with a grind yet drives perfect once it in it.
He doesnt know much about cars so I popped around last night and found that the clutch fluid was low. I firstly checked for any leaks but couldn't see any. At the same time I didn't have any fluid to top up with and to test.
My question is, could this be the issue that the fluid is low or is the clutch/gearbox on its way out? All other gears are fine and doesnt slip or making any noises.
Any suggestions and replies will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Arif.

I would replace the gearbox fluid before doing anything else. I would get 2 bottles of Amsoil MTF from Opie Oils (we get club discount).
