@Alex I assume you mean this header? https://www.privatelabelmfg.com/product ... header.htm

Then I still need a downpipe? Forgive my newbness.

Might go with the solid fab manifold/downpipe if it means it bolts straight on with no modifications and if i can get that around £500 then save up for the catback system later.

And who is PAW? :oops:

Still looking at all the options though, appreciate all the comments so far.

The downpipe is part of the manifold.
There are 3 parts
1 - Manifold/downpipe usually 2 parts
2 - Mid pipe or B pipe.
3 - Back box and peeenis hole insertion pipe.

Paw = Performance autoworks

I think the solid fab manifold is more than £500.

If you're just looking for cheap shiny and not fussed about bhp improvements, there's nothing wrong with a japspeed headers(the ebay jobbers). Perfectly good build quality. Can't speak for the exhaust beyond that though, as I have no experience.

Thanks everyone, I'm contacting my local powerflow dealer for a quote as they have some good reviews but not sure they do manifolds/headers.

Also contacting topgear stockport as they will do the whole shabang, fingers crossed its within budget.

I'll be sure to post a follow up once all prices have been compared and a final decision has been made.

I'm actually in Bolton but I say Manchester since it's the nearest big city and everyone will know where that is. The powerflow - district garage - in Farnworth quoted me £360 but they only do cat back. Still waiting on a reply from tsg. And I think my prelude ownership has rubbed off, there's another one on my street now, X reg sport 2000 in green. Looks in really good condition, I want to steal his alloys as they are mint and mine are curbed to buggery :mrgreen:

His alloys wont fit yours since his will be 4 stud being a sport 2000 and yours is 5 stud being a vti.

£360 is not too bad for a custom cat back. What size diamater?

Since i asked them to quote using the standard cat i'm assuming it would just be the 2" same as standard.

However I'm sorely tempted by the hytech replica made by PLM https://www.privatelabelmfg.com/product ... header.htm

*edit fixed incorrect link

It has lots of good reviews on other prelude sites. It would need some modification, either notching a cross member or it seems there's the possibility of modifying the header itself to increase ground clearance.

And then sports cat and cat back from Top Gear Stockport. I was verbally quoted £200 for the high flow cat, £350 for catback system (again i think this was for standard oem replacement) but they said to custom make the header would be about £700 and even recommended I buy one that is already made or they could source one for me.

Aarrrgh it's gonna cost me more than the car and I'm still not 100% on the plm one as with anything, there were one or two that hated it.
