personally i think caliper paint is rubbish for calipers,

ive only ever sprayed it on and find it takes ages to dry and brake dust seems to stick to it. cheap and nasty spray cans all the way for me.

Foliatec caliper paint

You paint this on with a brush. Rock hard when its dry.

Agreed about spray caliper paint, takes bloody ages to cure

and goes soft again the first couple of times it's used (ok after that though)

IMO you cant beat plasticote pewter enamel. Paint it on a few layers, right onto metal, and its a great even 'steel' colour and is great at resisting heat and dirt. you just need a real clean surface (no grease)

looks clean but not in your face.

pewter has a darker scintillation to it. It throws off a multihued light that looks both worn in yet fresh. Its normally a little darker in hue when you see it in the flesh. The little paint pots are better than the spray cans for calipers. paint it on smooth and leave it till dry. thin coats built up slow but dont touch it once its on or it splits and cracks.

I painted my calipers with a smooth satin white Hammerite. It's been fine, needs another coat 12 months on though.

I'd vote for silver or black.

These were my brake calipers in 2012 before being replaced with ATR calipers:

Mine are painted using Halfords silver brake caliper spray paint. I give them a fresh coat of paint every year, painted on with a brush.

However, next time I might try Plasticote pewter enamel recommended by LLL above. They look like a shiny silver, which I quite like, rather than a flat grey type of silver.

So finaly I've made my decision. This is my first attempt to use this kind of paint, and I know it's still miles away from this how it should looks. Anyway I'm quite happy with results. I painted only rear cariers for now but I think all four corners will ended like this - well, I hope better than this
