I know. But everything was fine before. Nothing has changed. All earths are how they were last year after i upgraded them all.
The car should still run with a vac leak but not very well.

Got more trial and errors to do tomorrow of the weather is good.

How did you remove and refit the dizzy? When I changed the o-ring on mine I marked the dizzy on top by the two bolts, put the engine on tdc no1 cylinder. Then replaced seal refitted dizzy and then made sure the marks lined up.

I took a photo of the gap.
I then tried to put it back the same way. Looks pretty close although i feel i may be a tad advanced.
I know. Lame.
Ill try and borrow a timing light. I have never done timing before but it can be too difficult since im just moving the dizzy get the correct timing. ANyone knwo where the timing should be as a base?

I think it should be 15deg btdc. There is a mark on the stock flywheel white for tdc and red for 15 btdc (all on no1 cylinder)

Maybe it's just that the cars I've adjusted timing on before haven't been particularly sensitive, but I've never been able to adjust it far enough to stop the engine running (on either full extent forward or back).

I'm not sure you can normally adjust it far enough out from the distributor, to make that happen? :?

It normally just makes it run noticeably rougher/smoother on idle IME? :?

No doubt someone that's actually done this on a lude will know fact rather than subjecture though!

So regard it before tdc. Weather is shocking so I'll try it tomorrow on my day off.
