Clutch pedal height and disengagement?

Post by Merlin » Thu Feb 27, 2014 11:13 am

Has anyone ever adjusted their clutch pedal?

Am I reading the service manual correctly where it says at the bottom of the page that the clutch should disengage when the pedal is approx 109mm from the floor?

Or is it say that any thing above 109mm is good and that 109mm is the minimum it should be?

I've replaced my master cylinder a few times over the years, and took that to mean that it should be AT LEAST 109mm.
I think the last time I just wound the nut on the cylinder so that it would engage/disengage very early in the travel, if that makes sense.

Ive never had mine adjusted in 15 years ive owned my lude.
Funny was looking at that when i replaced my main relay yesterday.
Will be difficult to measure any travel accurately but i may have a go a taking a reading with a set of calipers later on today

I read that to mean that the clutch must have reached a point where it is fully disengaged (physically, from the engine) when there is still at least 93mm more travel left until the pedal hits the floor.

yeah 109mm is where the clutch is fully disengaged as far as you should need to press

Nice. I will leave my pedal alone. Just thought I would check, just in case :)
