Civic type r 300mm calipers and disc

I got these calipers brand new a couple years ago and have done several happy track days but I've upgraded to bigger and better things

The pads are genuine honda and have about 50% life left, there's a choice of disc either the accord type r disc which are thicker 5stud only and done less than 1000 miles or the ctr disc which have been drilled to 4 and 5 stud have done maybe 5000 miles top.

The calipers have been modded to allow the atr disc thickness, it's very easy but I found them more suited to the track. Either because of the make or the thickness I'm not sure.

Are the calipers just straight bolt on to a 4th gen?
And the ctr discs are now 4 stud? As the ones pictured are 5 stud?

Yes mate they bolt straight on no messing around, the disc in the picture are the atr ones and haven't been drill but I could do them to 4 stud if needed?

I can get a pic of the ctr disc tomorrow if you like

Curious about this mod because it's not a common one - what's the benefit of ctr/atr?

This is from when I bought them so don't expect them to be so shiny now

The disc size is bigger and fatter on atr the ctr is same thickness as prelude I believe

I've never heard of this swap before either, I actually thought the centre bores were different sizes.

So the ctr calipers are much smaller, that surprises me. Guessing the piston is smaller too?
Greater leverage from bigger discs but possibly smaller braking force applied by a smaller piston?

I can't remember on the piston size atm, I think it was pretty much the same.

Greenuk you have dibs atm but I will check out that hub size, I have a feeling something maybe different too, I know the atr disc sits straight on my hub and that's 70.1mm but the 4 stud hub maybe smaller! I never fitted the ctr disc to my 5 stud set up.

Yeah ok mate that's great. I'm just on standard 4th gen 4 stud hubs
