Wanted JDM Gen 4 Auto Gearbox

Post by skyline007 » Thu Mar 20, 2014 9:02 pm

Hi All,
Ive recently bought a 1992 JDM Honda Prelude 2.2 Vtec Automatic, but the gearbox has started to leak. I am looking for a replacement for it, the engine code is H22A.

Welcome. Where's the leak from? Can it not be easily fixed?
I did notice an autobox for a 4th gen on eBay atm?

It's leaking from the casing and my mechanic adviced either to get it rebuilt or replace it. Is the box on eBay for the jdm spec? As I've spoken to a guy on there who has one but its for the uk model.

whether its jdm or uk it will fit its probably leaking from the main seal which should be easy to replace or the torque converter

Is there a difference in the auto box between ukdm and JDM? I didn't think there would be?

The one I was talking about is this one:

There's also this one that says it came off a jdm 4th gen (but then also says it's off a 1998 F22 which would make it a 5th gen, with an engine they were never actually built with)

Swap it for a manual box.

I've spoken to both of the eBay sellers but they aren't to sure if the gearbox's will fit my car, so not sure what to do.
