The mechanic tested emissions of my Prelude. But he should have gone to spec savers as he put the sensor up the exhaust of the ford focus next to it. I tried to tell him but he couldn't read my thoughts.

Perfect timing on this thread as I need to make enquiries about getting a high-flow cat next week. Meow. :D

Found an excellent article on them earlier this week, which has loads of useful info:
http://www.team-integra.net/forum/blogs ... -flow.html

Seems to backup popular opinion on Magnaflow (division of Carsound) being a great choice. Also, correct me if I am wrong but I believe it needs to be a minimum of 200 CPI to be compliant with OBDII standards, so 4G/5G might fail an MOT if using a 100 CPI cat.

Ratty, that's a very unfortunate mistake.
I'm sure you won't ever go back there again!

One of my 'Ludes had a cat replacement pipe and it failed the emissions test tragically!! The tester asked if I wanted a print out from the emission machine, I said no thankyou, so he ticked the 'pass' box ;)

..actually that same MOT saw the tester ask about a rear fog light, what with it being an import, I said it's in the boot, he asked if it works, I said well yes it would ...and that's another tick in the 'pass' box! ;)
