hi im new on here. bought a lovely prelude bb4 last night.. went to start this mornig and nothing? turns over but wont start. undone fuel cap and had lots of pressure came out so fuel pump working. thought I would take ecu from under passenger footwell out and inspect and found dodgy resister. could this be the cause? gutted

i have gone through with him about the main relay and he has soldered the joints but this made no difference.
i still have not discovered if it has a spark though.

check the battery strength if its a crap battery it will turn over but wont fire have you tried a jump start

thanks guys have tried everthing I know. last resort for me was to pop cover of ecu and found resister has broke away. sods lore it 1 that cant be re soldered. is ecu under footwell on passenger side up front. after another ecu. found a bb1 ecu for sale. would that be the same? if still dont run after that will have to go workshop. any you guys got bb4 ecu for sale. cheers

just make sure you get the right ecu there are a few different ones at the least make sure it has the correct number of connectors

ECU code for facelift BB4 ends N01.
im fairly certain ive got a spare - can check in the morning if you cant find a ecu from one of the local guys on here

Welcome and congrats on the purchase (looks like an interesting lude) sorry on the immediately having a problem on it!
Don't think there's any difference between engine ECU's on bb1/bb4, just make sure the end of the code on the top of the ECU is the same is all that matters.
Very rare/unheard of for an ECU to fail unless it's as a result of someone messing with it
Pic of the dodgy resistor? @Bluejackhustler on here may be able to fix your current one for you?
