Ok 5th gens are different. There are only 2 clips one on each side and they slide off. I take mine off every wash. Takes 2 seconds literally.

edit: 5th gen clips are metal too so done break.

It's all described in the service manual anyway, IIRC. The clips go brittle with age, so don't be surprised if they do break.

I've just completely failed to order a couple of new roof strips from JapanCars.ru, seem to be out of stock or something. :? Might as well try the old metal polish trick and see how I get on. I did try emery paper on the window trims a few years ago but they were so bad I went through to the metal and had to buy new ones! :oops:

I can get these at cost to myself. So if there is the demand, I can order a load and dish them out as and when they are needed at cost+postage??????
