Newbie - Mk4 Vtec UKDM - Love it

Post by mk4vtec-newbie » Tue May 27, 2014 11:13 pm

Greetings from a happy new Prelude owner,

After much searching found myself a lovely late 4g Vtec in blue. 150k and almost full Honda service history until 12m ago! Last guy had it for 6m and god only knows what he did in there but lets say the Polish valeters earned their money today. Shame as I bet it was spotless when he got it but nevermind.

I LOVE these cars. When I was 16 I cleaned cars at my local honda showroom to earn money for sweets in the summer. They had a new post facelift red 4g Vtec in the showroom and I used to drool over it daily. The Sales Manager let me sit in it one day and I thought it was the most amazing car ever. Admittedly technology has moved on but my fascination with Preludes remains.

Needs some bodywork attention esp around rear arches and want to get air con going for summer but well pleased with my £700 bargain.

More pics to follow.

Thanks, yes the colour made me even more determined to buy it. Going to polish her this weekend. There is a temptation to want her back in 'showroom' condition but got to be realistic and she is only a run around for work etc. Also got original black leather which feels lovely.

Honda need to bring back the lude and 4ws, they used to make such cool cars.

Welcome :)

True doppelgänger for my lude there. Same colour, same wheels (in the right rotation!), same mileage, same rust and same price. They could be twins !!

Except I haven't got the leather which I would have liked. Is yours a ukdm model?

Thanks for all your positive comments guys.

Sarah, great to hear we have matching cars. It is a UKDM. I have almost every receipt and the 2nd owner from 1999 to 2013 only took it to Honda which is amazing. Also lived about 5 miles from me in Surrey which I took as a sign that I had to buy her, rescue her from a Devon field and bring her home.I love the leather but needs some polishing. Is your car fairly stock or have you modified it? Any major vtec issues you can scare me with?

Amazing what a good valet, new wipers and some car mats can do for an interior. Get air com going and wheels refurb'd and she will go forever.
